"How to Win at College"
I found “How to Win at College” very connectable through many parts of the reading to my life as a college student. The chapter that I connected most with was “Don’t Study in Your Room”. During my first weeks here at Bloomsburg, I tried studying in my room because it was the most convenient and easiest for me during the times I wanted to focus on my schoolwork. I found it very distracting in my room because my computer and phone would always be sitting right in front of me and I would always want to play with both of them. In the last couple of weeks, I did exactly what the book said and studied at the library and I found it very effective. It helped me stay more concentrated on my work and not my computer or phone. I think it is important for college students to take this advice of studying in the library because there are not as many distractions or any people around to talk to or hang out with.

"Navigating Your Freshman Year"
"Navigating Your Freshman Year" was also very connectable to me in a few different ways. The part I connected with most was remembering your friends back home. Back home, I had a group of friends that I hung out with all the time and it was very hard for me to say goodbye to them. We all knew it was going to be a challenge to manage to stay in close contact because of the new busy college life we were all going to have, but even being in college for 2 months didn’t separate the friendship we have. Like the book said, the friends you make here are great, but for me, they don’t compare to the ones back home.It is important to have lasting relationships at college, but I also think it is important for all college students to remember and try to stay in touch with their friends back home, so like the section said, you will have people to hang out with when you return home for breaks.
